2019-2020 Team Blue

Team Blue operates under the guidance of Chris Wilkos and Pat Terrion. The managers apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom and utilize fundamental analysis and value investing as they manage a $1M portfolio. The team meets weekly for stock pitches and portfolio strategy.

Francis Stino

Francis (Fred) Stino is a senior majoring in Accounting and minoring in History at the University of Connecticut. Over the past summer, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as an intern on the Financial Services Assurance Team. Apart from his involvement in the Student Managed Fund, he works as a teaching assistant for ACCT 2001 and a bookkeeper in USG. In his free time, he enjoys listening to podcasts, eating at McMahon dining hall, and competition running.

Santiago Persano 

Portfolio Manager, Fall 2019

Santiago Persano is a senior finance and political science double major at the University of Connecticut. Currently, Santiago serves as an Administrative Assistant in the University Purchasing department, a division of Procurement under University Business Services. Over the last two summers, Santiago interned at Travelers Insurance in downtown Hartford working in the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis and Claim Finance groups. In addition to serving as Portfolio Manager for the Undergraduate SMF Blue Team, Santiago is an active member of the UConn Real Estate society.


Andrew Willard

Digital Media Manager, Fall 2019

Andrew is a senior finance major at the University of Connecticut. This past summer Andrew worked as an intern for Raymond-James, working under one of their financial advisors in the Essex area. He assisted in communicating and working with clients to make sure they were properly allocated to align with their investment horizon. Apart from his work in the Student Managed Fund as Digital Media Manager, Andrew likes trading options, playing football with friends and bartending on the weekends.


Alex Greenberg

Alex is a senior at the University of Connecticut majoring in Finance and minoring in Real Estate. This past summer, Alex interned at Moody’s Investors Service in the Global Project and Infrastructure Finance Group. At Moody’s, Alex covered various credits including airports, stadiums, ports, and power plants (generation, transmission, and distribution). In his free time, Alex enjoys playing golf and traveling. Upon graduation, Alex will be returning to Moody’s in the New York office.


Morgan Van Liew

Communications Manager, Fall 2019

Morgan Van Liew is a senior Finance major in the honors program with a minor in management. Last summer she interned at Cigna in the Investment Management program. After graduation, she will join Cigna full time in Bloomfield. In the spring of 2018, she studied abroad at the University of Wollongong in Australia. Outside of the Student Managed Fund she is involved in the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi. She also holds an on-campus job as a Student Administrative Assistant in the Office of Undergraduate Advising in the Business School.


William Mudlaff

Lead Manager, Spring 2020

William Mudlaff is a junior Finance major with a minor in Analytics. Last summer, he interned at Nasdaq on their Global Trading and Market Services team. Next summer, he will be working at Citi as a Corporate Banking summer analyst. William is the captain of the varsity swim team and also is the treasurer for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee


Justin Wagner

Portfolio Manager, Spring 2020

Justin Wagner is a senior in the Honors Program at the University of Connecticut majoring in Finance with a minor in Economics. He currently works part-time at Evans Hagen & Company, an investment bank in Westport, CT. This past summer, Justin worked as a Financial Services Intern at Terex Corporation, where he was responsible for the syndication of equipment loans and multiple corporate treasury functions. He also has experience working at Aspen Insurance Group and a cryptocurrency hedge fund. Justin hails from Glastonbury, CT, spending most of his free time golfing, listening to podcasts, reading, or playing fantasy football.


John Brindisi

 

John Brindisi is a senior in the Honors Program at the University of Connecticut pursuing a degree in Management and Engineering for Manufacturing. In addition to his role in the Student Managed Fund, John serves as the Director of External Initiatives of the UConn Consulting Group (UCG) and is a member of the UConn Men’s Club Volleyball team. Professionally, John has gained experience as a Test Operations Engineering Intern at Pratt & Whitney and as a Summer Consultant at Roland Berger. After graduation John will return to Roland Berger full time in Boston. In his free time, John enjoys volleyball, soccer, and working on projects with friends.


Julia Wilson 

 

Julia Wilson is a senior at the University of Connecticut studying finance with a concentration in valuation and portfolio management. On campus, in addition to the Student Managed Fund, Julia is the President of Finance Society, a sister of Alpha Phi, and works in the University’s athletic department. She recently participated in the Harvard Financial Analyst Club’s Stock Pitch Competition and attended the Cornell Women in Investing Conference. This past summer, Julia was a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs within their Consumer and Investment Management Division in Atlanta, GA. In her free time, she enjoys running, sailing, skiing, and spending time with friends and family. Julia looks forward to applying her passion for finance into a full-time career upon graduation.


Evan Cybart

Digital Media Manager, Spring 2020

Evan is a senior at the University of Connecticut majoring in finance. This past summer, Evan worked as a finance intern with the international programs finance department at Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, where he gained valuable experience creating financial models and packages. At Sikorsky, Evan also worked to capitalize $17.5M of capital assets, and status over $10M more. After graduation, he will join Moody’s Investor Services as an Associate Analyst and begin working towards attaining his CFA. Evan is from Norwalk, Connecticut and enjoys watching sports and hanging out with his friends in his free time.
