Team Blue operates under the guidance of Chris Wilkos and Pat Terrion. The managers apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom and utilize fundamental analysis and value investing as they manage a $1M portfolio. The team meets weekly for stock pitches and portfolio strategy.

John Quevreaux
Co-Lead Manager, Spring 2019
Jack Quevreaux is a senior honors student majoring in finance and minoring in mathematics at the University of Connecticut. Over the past summer, he worked for Moody’s Investors Service as a Ratings and Research Support intern on the High Yield team. Apart from his involvement in the Student Managed Fund, he has participated in the Harvard University and Cornell University stock pitch competitions. In addition, he is an avid movie fan and enjoys teaching himself to play the guitar.

Samantha Martin
Co-Lead Manager, Spring 2019
Samantha Martin is a senior Finance major with a minor in international studies. Last summer she interned at The Hartford in their Financial Leadership Development Program. In the Spring of 2018 she studied abroad in Florence, Italy and had the opportunity to travel to many cities throughout Europe. Outside of the Student Managed Fund, she is a member of the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi. In addition, she plays intramural soccer and spent a year on the UConn Cheerleading Team.

Harrison Newman
Portfolio Manager, Spring 2019
Harrison is a senior at the University of Connecticut pursuing a degree in finance with a minor in real estate. He plays on the UConn football team as a member of the offensive line. Outside of the SMF, Harrison in the investment committee co-head for the Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity. He is from West Hartford, Connecticut and enjoys fishing, and spending time with friends and family.

Sharon Liu
Digital Media Manager, Spring 2019
Sharon is a senior Finance major, with Psychology, and Digital Marketing and Analytics minor. Last summer, she interned at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Risk Assurance group. After graduation, she will join the firm full time in Boston. In addition to the Student Managed Fund, She is involved in the International Chinese Student Association, and UConn Connects Program.

Zack Yellen
Communications Manager, Spring 2019
Zack Yellen is a senior finance and economics major in the honors program. Over the last two summers, he interned at FactSet and McLagan, where he gained value finance and consulting experience. As a junior, he studied abroad in the Netherlands at the University of Amsterdam. On campus, he is a member of the UConn Consulting Group, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and is the Vice President of the UConn Men’s Volleyball team.

Matthew Arons

Matthew Arons is a senior finance major and economics minor. In addition to his role in the Student Managed Fund, Matthew serves as the President of the the UConn Finance Society, Treasurer of the Business Golf Club and as a member of the UConn Fed Challenge Team. Last summer he was an intern at Synchrony Financial in the Treasury Risk Management group. Matthew is from Stamford, CT and enjoys playing golf, traveling and spending time with friends.

Austin Langer

Austin is a senior finance major and double minor in economics and data analytics in the honors program. Last summer he interned at Moody’s Investor Services in the Retail, Restaurant, Gaming & Lodging. Previously, Austin interned at True North Chartering in Wilton, Connecticut, and the BBC in London, England. Alana Phillips
Portfolio Manager, Fall 2018
Alana Phillips is a senior finance major at the University of Connecticut. In addition to her role in the Student Managed Fund, Alana serves as the Vice President of the UConn Finance Society. She also serves part-time as a Financial Mangement Technician in the Connecticut Air National Guard. Professionally, Alana has gained experience as a Summer Sales and Trading Analyst at UBS. After graduation, Alana plans to return to UBS as a Credit Sales and Trading Analyst full-time in New York City.

August Densby is a senior perusing a degree in Finance with a minor in Global Studies. In addition to his role in the Student Managed Fund, August is extensively involved in Alpha Kappa Psi – professional business fraternity, heading professional development. Professionally, August will be working for Liberty Mutual in Boston after graduation in their financial management program. He interned there over the summer working in the alternative assets portfolio. In his free time August likes to play guitar, listen to music, and cook.

Trent Nobile

Trent Nobile is a senior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut. Trent is pursuing a major in Actuarial Science with Finance along with minors in both Spanish and Statistics. Outside of the classroom Trent is and active member of the Actuarial Fraternity, Gamma Iota Sigma, and he is also the Recruitment Chair for his social fraternity, Beta Theta Pi. Over the past summer, Trent interned with XL Catlin in Hartford. There he worked on a small team of pricing actuaries supporting the pricing of Professional Liability Products. In his free time Trent enjoys playing basketball, surfing, and skiing.
