SMF Fund Managers are selected through a highly competitive application process. Each team has three fund managers, with one Lead Manager per team. Student Fund Managers apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom to real investment portfolios, traditionally earning impressive returns even in today’s volatile economic environment.

James Londono is a second year MBA student at the University of Connecticut concentrating in Finance and serves as the Lead Manager of the Student Managed Fund and President of the Graduate Business Association. During his 12 years of experience in Financial Services IT Consulting, Insurance and Strategic Marketing, James has worked with clients such as GE Capital, IBM, Citizens Bank, Cooper Gay, and The United States Department of Commerce in various capacities.Prior to UConn, James spent several years working for a start up International Insurance Consulting firm focused on the Latin America and Middle East markets, including two years living and working in Mexico City doing Product and Business Development. This past summer he interned at Aetna developing sales strategies for its specialty products line.
James received a BS in Finance and Marketing from the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business and along with his leadership roles in the SMF and GBA at UConn, also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Student Ambassador.

Sumit Krishan is a second year MBA student pursuing MBA in finance at University of Connecticut, School of Business. Prior to joining MBA, Sumit worked as Project Manager, Business Analyst and Senior Software Engineer in banking, insurance and logistics domains with industry pioneers like Total Systems, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) and Infosys Technologies Ltd. Sumit has more than six and half years of multi-cultural corporate experience in developing financial applications for client like Aetna Inc., US and Royal Mail group UK.Sumit did his Bachelors in Electronics and Communication engineering (with Honors), which helped him in developing an analytical approach to look at problems and also made him comfortable with complex mathematical concepts.
Sumit is highly interested and motivated in pursuing his career as portfolio manager and has an ambition to use his technological skills and knowledge in managing investment in technology sector. Sumit is currently serving as a fund manager and treasurer for Student Managed Fund (SMF) and he is mainly responsible to recommend securities and to manage invested fund in technology and energy sectors.

Eric Chang is currently an MBA student at the University of Connecticut majoring in Finance and Corporate Strategy. With over 12 years of experience in sales, general management, and strategic marketing, Eric adds entrepreneurial spirit and broad scope leadership to his quantitative training.Prior to UCONN, Eric was a general manager at Global Information Inc.; a market research company where he led his local office to over 600% growth within 4 years. He also held the positions of account manager and North American sales manager at GII where he was the top sales person the company serving in a player/coach role. His contributions in process innovation and product development were key to the firm’s success.
Previous to GII, Eric held various positions in IT sales, Director of Marketing at an IT start-up, and also as an IT systems engineer at The Hartford. Eric has a BA in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin. At UCONN Eric is actively involved in various leadership capacities including the Graduate Business Association and dean search committee for the business school.

Manh is originally from Vietnam. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He worked over two and a half years as a lead field engineer for Schlumberger Ltd, a global oilfield services company, in Abu Dhabi/Dubai, UAE.Currently, Manh is a second year full-time MBA candidate at the University of Connecticut with a concentration in Finance. He is also a teaching assistant for the school of business. He has recently completed his internship with Landmark Partners, a private equity firm in Simsbury, CT and is preparing for his CFA level I exam in December 2011. With an avid interest in finance and investment, Manh is looking forward to pursuing a career in the financial services industry.
Manh is in the Board of the Graduate Business Association and Board of Society of Private Equity, Entrepreneurship, and Consulting. He enjoys reading, music, and tennis.

Prior to pursuing his Full-time MBA degree, Chenqiong (Adeline) Tang worked as a Dry Bulk Charter & Project manager for one of famous worldwide shipping company, Simpson Spence & Young in Hong Kong & Beijing China and trained in New York City as Supply Chain Manager in one of European based Logistics company. A native of Shanghai, China, Adeline worked in several metropolitan in different countries. She earned her bachelor degree in International Finance from Shanghai Maritime University.Having worked for customers such as GE, American Standards, GM and three biggest mining companies in Dry Bulk Chartering and Large State Energy projects, Adeline built her analytic thinking and other soft skills which can be potentially transferred into the skills for investment strategies.
Adeline recently completed an internship with IT, Finance & Project Management in one of famous Reinsurance company. She is now seeking to successfully initiate a career change into area combining both IT & Finance.
She is currently excited to serve as a SMF fund manager, specializing in the Utility and Telecom Sector also supporting Material Sector with expertise in Mining and Dry bulk mining industry. In order to gain deeper experience and successfully manage the fund, she is still working in IT department for finance and working as investment researcher and analyst in Independent Research Program provided by Bradley, Foster & Sargent, Inc.
